Yum Kun Chueng - Spicy Chinese Sausage Salad

You can “Yum” anything if you put your mind to it. Yum is Thai for salad, but this salad is hardly healthy. To make something a yum you need all the flavors: Sweet, Spicy, Salty, Sour, and bitter. To be quick, that is why we use sugar, chillies, fish sauce, lime juice, and onions (scallions or shallots) in almost everything. I think thats why Thai food never gets boring. I try to not make this to often at home. Every Sunday, I would make a giant pot of plain rice soup and whip together sides from our pantry. Typically we would have a plain omelette, some canned pickles, pork fried with garlic… and if it was a special day, i would make this. My dad devours the sausages before I can even sit down at the table.
